Extension of the Bishop Józef Nathan Specialist Hospital in Branice by a building with psychiatric wards for adults
Conceptual design for the extension of the specialist hospital complex to include a new building with three adult psychiatry wards. The building is similar in size to the other existing historic buildings of the hospital complex. It is located in the western part of the hospital complex on the site of three buildings with ancillary functions scheduled for demolition. The building was designed in a simple form referring to the historic buildings of the hospital in order to maintain the uniform character of the establishment. The minimalist aesthetic and details of the building give a contemporary feel. On the three above-ground storeys, the building contains three independent adult psychiatry wards and on the underground storey storage, technical and utility rooms and changing rooms. The underground storey, due to the sloping ground, is partially exposed on the south side allowing direct access from the technical road level. This provides easy access for deliveries and technical matters.
